Intel perkenal 3D transistor untuk menyaingi kehebatan ARM dalam pasaran. ARM banyak digunakan dalam komputer tablet dan smartphone. Kehebatan ARM: power efficiency. Oleh itu, 3D transistor intel ini pun tidak kurang juga hebatnya.

Ia juga dikenali sebagai Tri-Gate Transistor
